The Hochschule Niederrhein and the University of Duisburg-Essen have been investigating the topic of mobility in Krefeld for around one and a half years as part of the BestMOD project. The aim of the project is to record the mobility needs of the city's residents and to design a sustainable public transport system. On November 15 (4 to 6 p.m.), all residents of Krefeld are invited to take part in a workshop on the premises of The Hochschule Niederrhein (Room JE 14, Obergath 79, Krefeld). The first results of the survey will be shown and on-demand transport will be presented as the mobility of the future.
The results of the BestMOD study so far are promising from the researchers' point of view and provide valuable insights into the mobility needs of the Krefeld community. These findings form the foundation course for future improvements to Krefeld's mobility offer, including attractive and economical expansions of the existing mobility offer for an overall higher quality of life.
Since the start of the project, researchers from The Hochschule Niederrhein and the University of Duisburg-Essen have worked intensively to gain a comprehensive understanding of the individual mobility patterns and requirements of the Krefeld population. This included surveys and the evaluation of data from various sources.
Anyone who would like to continue to support the BestMOD project in this exciting future topic and take part in the workshop can register now using the registration form on the website www.BestMOD.nrw or by sending an informal email to bestmod-studie(at)uni-due.de.
