The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at the Hochschule Niederrhein can look back on a tradition stretching back over 50 years. At any given time, around 2,000 students are enrolled in our faculty, taking part in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Social Work, Cultural Education and Early Childhood Education.
Drawing on the foundation course in academic knowledge and methods, we equip our students to act independently and professionally within their respective fields of work and practice, and to develop social innovations.
Our faculty provides solutions to current and future challenges in politics and society. The foundation of our thinking and actions is based on human rights and, consequently, on respect, appreciation and recognition of diversity. The aim is to equip students to shape, in a responsible and academically sound manner, the living environments of the people with whom we work in our professional and practical fields.
