All first-year students receive a study package during their faculties' induction week. Our small welcome package contains small welcome gifts and information for a successful start to your studies.

Our app offers you many useful tools and is constantly being developed further.

Particularly interesting: The app offers you the opportunity to retrieve the semester ticket for NRW-wide public transport as an eTicket directly on your smartphone.
The student ID card can also be displayed via the app, as well as the barcode for the library and pay machines .

You can also conveniently check the daily specials at your canteen, check the next bus and train departure times or call up job offers in your faculties.

Once you have completed registration/re-registration, you can retrieve and print out your student and library cards and other documents via the online portal

At the beginning of your studies, you naturally don't know your way around. The Hochschule Niederrhein makes it easier for all first-year students to find their way around their studies, their faculties and their university location. The first semester tutors make a significant contribution to this. They are students from higher semesters and are on hand to offer advice and support - they can usually be recognized by their blue T-shirts. They are specially prepared and qualified for their work by the tutoring program.

The university offers you numerous opportunities to shape your university life. In addition to interesting offers that support you in your everyday life as a student and help you advance your studies, such as our MakerSpace, math courses, summer and winter academies, there is also a lot on offer for your student life away from the lecture halls, such as events, sports activities, theater subscriptions, movie or game nights and much more.
