The Hochschule Niederrhein is losing Dr. Marion Halfmann. The professor of Marketing and Sales at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics will move to Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) on November 1, where she will succeed outgoing President Dr. Hartmut Ihne. Today, Tuesday, the 55-year-old was elected as the new president at the university election meeting at H-BRS in St. Augustin.
"We congratulate Marion Halfmann on this great result and are delighted that she will be leading Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in the future. At the same time, we regret that we are letting go of a committed and professionally excellent colleague. However, we will continue to work closely with Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in the Transfer Alliance for the Rhineland region, the University Alliance for SMEs and, of course, the CyberCampus NRW. We wish her all the best for her new position," says Dr. Thomas Grünewald, President of The Hochschule Niederrhein.
Halfmann was appointed to The Hochschule Niederrhein in September 2020, having previously worked at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences for eight years. In addition to her teaching education at the HSNR, which included a successful cooperation with Bundesliga soccer team Borussia Mönchengladbach, she has left her mark on the HSNR, especially in the area of international affairs.
As the Presidential Board's Internationalization Officer, she played a leading role in developing the HSNR's internationalization strategy, which was recently approved by the Presidential Board. During her time in office, numerous new partnerships were forged, particularly in non-European countries.
