Textile innovation up close: University invites creative participation at Munich Fabric Start

Munich Fabric Start is one of the largest trade fairs for textiles, ingredients and textile finishing. The Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology at Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) will also be represented with a stand in the Bavarian capital on September 3 and 4. In cooperation with Brother Internationale Textilmaschinen GmbH, the faculty will be demonstrating the possibilities of digital direct printing. In the workspace, visitors to the trade fair will have the opportunity to get creative themselves and print their results live and on site.

They will be supported by Anna Koch, specialist teacher for special tasks in design and textile design, and Christine Steinem, research assistant in textile printing and member of the Research Institute for Textile and Clothing (FTB).

At the same time, the competencies of the textile apprenticeship at Niederrein University of Applied Sciences are impressively demonstrated by the student works on display. The variety of work reflects the diversity of the faculties and the textile industry and shows the latest technological developments, such as 3D printing on textiles.

Design Engineering studies in the specializations of textiles and fashion offer a future-oriented and practical orientation with a unique blend of design expertise, sustainability and technological know-how.

If you would like to see the work up close or get creative in the workspace yourself, you can visit the faculties' stand in the Blue Zone.

Professor Dr. Maike Rabe will represent the university on Wednesday, 4.9. (3 - 4 p.m.) in Hall 7 at a panel talk on the following topic: Closing the Loop: Breaking Down Barriers in Fiber Recycling for Fashion.
