Work determines a large part of our lives - but what role should it play in the future?
Between work-life balance, the risk of burnout and the desire for social recognition, many new questions arise:
- Do we want to live in a society in which (unpaid) overtime is seen as a sign of diligence?
- How much time do we really want to - and should we - devote to gainful employment?
- Is a reduction in working hours a step towards a better quality of life and social justice?
Together with experts from business, politics, trade unions and civil society, we will discuss the future of working hours. -
Whether it's a 4-day week, flexible models or new ways of being recognised beyond constant stress: how do we want to work - and live - in the future? The 8-hour working day: an achievement worth protecting or a disturbing relic of times gone by? Let's take a close look at this extremely important question for society as a whole in a real-life laboratory!
The Hochschule Niederrhein's Future Work Lab is literally the best place to do this. A working and meeting space that is open to the urban community and invites controversial discussions that move us forward.
