Added expertise for the Department of Economics

At the start of the summer semester 2025, Dr Andre Carls, Krefeld, will join the team of lecturers at the Department of Economics. In cooperation with Prof. Dr Bernd Müller, he will offer parts of the semester programme in the Master's module Advanced Corporate Finance.

Dr Carls is a renowned expert in various areas of corporate finance and bank management. He was Chairman of the Management Board of comdirect Bank, served as Divisional Board Member of Commerzbank in Central and Eastern Europe, was Divisional Board Member for Corporate Clients at Commerzbank's Mittelstandsbank West and later a member of the Management Board for Private and Corporate Clients South/West based in Düsseldorf. He also held responsibility as Chairman of the NRW Banking Association until 2021.

The Department of Economics warmly welcomes Dr Carls as a lecturer who will contribute to intensifying the existing links between science and practice at our university and provide our students with the latest developments in corporate finance in a practical way.
