HSNR celebrates 25 years of "Forum Banking & Finance

The anniversary edition on October 25 will feature presentations and a panel discussion with industry experts.

At the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of the Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR), the exchange with financial and banking experts is an important component of the students' apprenticeship with a practical emphasis / orientation. For this reason, there is the lecture and discussion format "Forum Banking & Finance" at the Mönchengladbach campus, where industry experts share their expertise and experience and students make initial contacts in the professional world.

Because the series of events has proven successful for 25 years, an anniversary edition is now on the agenda: On October 25, guest speakers will give presentations at the Mönchengladbach campus in the foyer and main auditorium (Building W, Webschulstraße 41-43) starting at 4 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Invited are Dr. Manuel Probst (Jebsen & Jessen) on the topic of structured financing in developing countries, Dr. Andre Carls (Bankenverband NRW) on the bureaucratic monster EU taxonomy as well as Jan Caspar (Volkswagen Bank GmbH) and Julian Klar (Volkswagen AG) on international capital markets as an essential source of refinancing for the VW Group. Interested parties should register by Friday, October 6, at forum_bankingandfinance(at)hs-niederrhein.de.

"The format is very important for our students because the contacts have often resulted in internships or permanent positions," emphasizes initiator Prof. Dr. Bernhard Müller. The professor of general business administration with a specialisation in finance establishes the practical contacts for the forum and puts them in touch with the university.

Twice a semester, guest speakers from Germany and abroad come to the faculty. Here, there are courses such as Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Business Management or Taxation and Auditing.

World financial crisis, digitalization, sustainability - in 25 years there have been serious changes in the financial sector, which the forum has always reflected thematically. Whether banks or companies, whether author Burkhard Spinnen, professional soccer clubs such as Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt or the credit rating agency Standard & Poor's: Prof. Dr. Bernhard Müller is pleased that the Who's Who of the industry has been coming to HSNR for more than two decades: "A comparable format that has existed for so long is absolutely rare in the German university landscape."
