Interdisciplinary collaboration has become an integral part of everyday scientific work - it opens up new perspectives, but also brings with it communicative and organisational challenges. This is exactly where the interactive workshop of the Research and Innovation department comes in, to which we cordially invite all doctoral candidates to the Future Work Lab in Krefeld city centre on 23 February 2026 from 2 - 5 pm.
The focus will be on the question of how communication and cooperation can succeed across disciplinary boundaries. In addition to short impulses, the focus will be on exchange and reflection. A voluntary team task will be presented that specifically addresses interdisciplinary communication and cooperation skills.
Two doctoral students from the Smart Interfaces - SmInt project, who have already completed this team task together with eight other doctoral students and postdocs (in the photo) as part of a qualification programme that is currently being developed, will report first-hand on their experiences, challenges and learning successes and will be available to answer questions.
The event also offers space for networking: interested parties can form an interdisciplinary team and - if they wish - take part in one of the team tasks themselves. Participation is expressly voluntary.
Target group: All doctoral candidates with an interest in interdisciplinary work, exchange and personal development - regardless of specialisation or previous experience.
We look forward to a stimulating exchange together!
