The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) and the city of Mönchengladbach joined forces at the beginning of the year to jointly tackle the key challenges facing the Niederrhein region. With a focus on socio-cultural participation, sustainable urban development and interdisciplinary cooperation, they are tackling structural change in a region characterised by economic and social upheaval.
This intention, entitled "Transformation Laboratory University", was sponsored by the Stifterverband for one year.
The core question of the project: "Which university does the region need - an HN Lab in three steps", is now being initiated as the second step of the Stifterverband project with the "blank spaces" conference festival organised by the city of Mönchengladbach. The team of the Third Mission, Department of University Culture and Diversity of the HSNR, has brought together contributions from friendly scientific experts and colleagues of the HSNR for the festival. In addition, the HSNR will be using the vacant space on the upper Hindenburgstraße in Mönchengladbach during the HSNR Campus Week and the "blank spaces" conference festival with workshops, lectures and hands-on activities.
At the conference festival, we will capture moods, follow and evaluate opinions, discussions and contributions and transfer the results to the third step of the project: "The HSNR workshops - HSNR for the region".
Many thanks to our friends of the HSNR and colleagues who will be presenting their expertise on the two days of "blank spaces".
