Department of Design at Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences seeks creative talents

Anyone wishing to study design at the Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) in the winter semester 2025/2026 must first take part in an artistic-design aptitude interview. Those interested can register for this until 2 July 2025.

The aptitude interview is a prerequisite for admission to the Bachelor's degree programmes in Communication Design and Product and Object Design. Applicants present their portfolio of independently developed design work.

Portfolio counselling to prepare for the aptitude interview

To support prospective students in creating their own portfolio, the Department of Design offers free programme-specific portfolio consultations for both degree programmes. Prospective students can present their sketchbooks and other drawings and works here, even if they have already applied for the aptitude assessment. Teachers advise on the course of study and give tips for improvement.
