Writing as a profession, language as a creative medium and artificial intelligence as a new tool: the 103rd edition of the ‘Design Discussion’ organised by the Faculty of Design at the Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) on 8 October will focus entirely on the theme of ‘text’. The guest speaker is Piet Fischer, a graduate of the faculty and now a freelance copywriter.
In collaboration with the City of Krefeld’s Cultural Office, the Faculty of Design at the Hochschule Niederrhein invites you to the Fabrik Heeder (Virchowstraße 130, Studiobühne 2) in Krefeld at 8 pm. Admission is free.
In conversation with the Dean of the Department, Prof. Dr Erik Schmid, Piet Fischer will talk about his day-to-day professional life and his journey into freelancing. Among other things, the discussion will address how language functions across poetry, journalism and advertising, and the role that text plays in design. The influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on writing and the work of copywriters will also be discussed.
