Krefeld. On Thursday, 20 November, the Faculty of Design at Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR), together with the City of Krefeld's Cultural Office, invites you to the 99th expenditure of the Design Discussion at Fabrik Heeder (Studiobühne 2, Virchowstraße 130).
Starting at 8 p.m., visitors can expect a dialogue on the topic of "Communication Design" with Professor Dr Erik Schmid, Dean of the Faculty of Design and the renowned typography professor and communication designer Jean Ulysses Voelker. Admission to the event is free and registration is not required.
The discussion will centre on Voelker's comprehensive work "What Communication Design Can Do", which he co-authored with Michael Schmitz. The book provides a systematic overview of the versatility of communication forms, from traditional signs to digital design and current developments in artificial intelligence. In this context, both the emergence and the impact of communication design on society and public communication are addressed. Further information on Jean Ulysses Voelker and his work can be found on the website www.ulyssesvoelker.com.
