Design lecturers and students exhibit their works in the Esters and Lange houses

Starting on Sunday, March 26th, 50 Krefeld artists and designers will present their works in the exhibition "Productive Spaces. The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) is also a part of it. The Faculty of Design is represented several times and shows how important the cultural connection between the HSNR with the city and the region is.

The exhibits can be seen from next Sunday at 11:30 a.m. until September 10th, 2023 in the Mies van der Rohe houses Esters and Lange, Wilhelmshofallee 91-97. A creative range from painting and sculpture to photography, video installations and social, product and communication design awaits visitors.

Almost half of the exhibitors are former and current students and lecturers of the Faculty of Design. Incidentally, the department deliberately calls itself "designkrefeld" to symbolize "that Krefeld and design form a unity that combines tradition, creativity and confidence," as Dean Prof. Dr. Erik Schmid explains.

In addition to the A-Gang and an exhibition at the Kunstverein, the lecturers and students are now demonstrating their rootedness in Krefeld with their participation in "Productive Spaces" on the occasion of the city's 650th birthday.

The Faculty of Design, which emerged from the Werkkunstschule opened in 1904 and was the founding faculty of the university, still shapes biographies of notable movements and personalities in the international art and design world.
