School or university degree (soon) in the bag - and now? If you're interested in the design profession but don't yet know what opportunities it opens up, you've come to the right place on 14 May: the Department of Design at Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) invites all students, graduates, prospective students, school pupils and young professionals to the "designberufe rufen!" career fair from 11 am to 3 pm.

In the Shedhalle at Campus Krefeld West, Frankenring 20, visitors will gain exciting insights and contacts into the working world of the design industry. Admission is free. This format, which is unique to a design campus in North Rhine-Westphalia, is now taking place for the eighth time. The fair brings together practitioners, theorists and students. The presentation of the design and creative industries supports the students in their step into the professional world.

"designberufe rufen" is aimed at students specialising in design, computer science, marketing and economics as well as high school graduates and vocational school students who want to get to know the diverse fields of work in design.

Companies from the fields of communication and product design, such as Scholz & Friends, dreiform and ZUM GOLDENEN HIRSCHEN, will be on site. The fair offers a good opportunity to find out about internships, apprenticeships, job profiles and career opportunities. "Designers from the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences have already come to dreiform and won awards for international clients," says Philipp Frank, Senior Project Manager at the design agency dreiform GmbH from Hürth. An interesting lecture programme with guests from the fields of communication and product design will run in parallel.

"The design industry is a fast-growing segment of the German economy. It offers a wide range of entry-level and career opportunities. This is precisely why personal contacts and first-hand information are essential," says Professor Dr Erik Schmid, Dean of the Department of Design.
