Anyone wishing to start a design degree programme at The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) in the winter semester 2025/2026 must first take part in an artistic-design aptitude interview. The interview is a prerequisite for admission to studies in the Communication Design and Product and Object Design degree programmes. Prospective students can still apply until Saturday, 15 March 2025.

After the application deadline, applicants will receive an invitation to take part in the artistic-design aptitude interview at the beginning of April, during which they will present a portfolio of independent work. Applicants can find out what the portfolio should contain at the portfolio advisory services of the Faculty of Design and on the website: www.hs-niederrhein.de/bewerbung-design.

Portfolio advisory service to prepare for the aptitude test

To help prospective students prepare their own portfolio, the Faculty of Design offers free programme-specific portfolio advisory services for Communication Design and Product and Object Design during the application period. Here they can present their sketchbooks and other drawings and works, even if they have already applied for the aptitude test. Teaching educators provide advice on the course of study and give tips for improvement.
