Mid-term event in the mentoring program "Taking the lead as a woman

Monday marked the halfway point of the mentoring program "Als Frau in Führung gehen" ("Taking the lead as a woman") organized by the Hochschule Niederrhein, Unternehmerschaft Niederrhein e. V. and Leading Ladies in Town. At the event on June 19, the ten tandems of mentees and mentors took time for a mid-term review. And the results were positive on all sides!

For example, mentee Eva Houben, who has now been in an exchange with Wiebke Rumpf, a manager at AMETEK GmbH, for five months as part of the program, states: "My mentor actively encourages and challenges me to independently reflect on my work and my actions, to further develop my professional identity." And the mentor also looks back on the past months with a positive balance: "I am happy to be able to pass on my experiences to my mentee. The exchange not only broadens her horizons, but mine as well," says the experienced manager. The project initiators are also satisfied with the feedback so far: The exchange of knowledge and the communication between different generations is beneficial for both sides - Prof. Ralf Kampker, Faculty of Industrial Engineering, the Equal Opportunities Officer of the HSNR, Dr. Sandra Laumen, and project manager and Leading Lady Dr. Inge Röhnelt agree on this.
The mentoring program "Taking the Lead as a Woman" will run until September - with the prospect of a subsequent expansion of the project's scope.
