Career step professorship - HSNR informs and gives tips

How do you become a professor at a university of applied sciences? What do you have to consider? Answers to all questions about professorships will be provided on Thursday, June 15, at the information event "Career Step Professorship - Profession and Appointment" at the Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR). It will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Krefeld South Campus (room J E09), Reinarztstraße 49.

The event is initiated by the Equal Opportunities Department of the HSNR in cooperation with the Leading Ladies in Town - a network for top qualified women in Krefeld. The information event is primarily aimed at doctoral students and women with doctorates in business, industry, administration and science who are aiming for a professorship at a university. However, all other interested parties are also welcome to attend. Applications should be sent by June 11 via e-mail to gleichstellung(at)hs-niederrhein.de.

"Experience shows that women are less likely to apply for professorships, even though they are at least as well qualified as their male competitors. Particularly in subjects in which women are underrepresented, the appointed professor acts as a role model for the few female students and shows that the choice of subject has nothing to do with gender," says Equal Opportunity Officer Drin. Sandra Laumen.

About the event: During the event, the HSNR and the "Leading Ladies in Town" network will be introduced and the opportunities will be presented for interested parties to network with professional and leading women who live, study or work in Krefeld. Participants will also learn more about the appointment process at the university and the formal criteria. There will also be plenty of time for questions, discussions and tips on the application process.
