Artificial intelligence meets art

Students from the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences present their interactive AI art project "Artificial".

Master's students from the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) are presenting an interactive art project that blurs the boundaries between art and technology. Visitors can view the "ARTificial" project from January 12 to 14, 2024 (12 to 6 p.m.) in the Carl Brandts Haus Central Library (Blücherstraße 6, 41061 Mönchengladbach). The event is free of charge. Registration is not required.

By combining art and artificial intelligence (AI), the students will demonstrate an innovative form of visual communication and provide insights into the possibilities and effects of AI on everyday life. To this end, they have set up an LED cube as an installation that involves visitors in the art project via a microphone. With the help of advanced AI algorithms, spoken sentences are converted into images from which a story is created.

After the three-day event, interested parties will have the opportunity to view the entire artwork. The project is supported by the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at HSNR and the City Library in Mönchengladbach. The project also receives financial support from the Mönchengladbach Cultural Office. Further information on the project can be found at: www.stadtbibliothek-mg.de.
