The Unternehmerschaft Niederrhein, together with The Hochschule Niederrhein and the Krefeld network Leading Ladies in Town, celebrated the official launch of the fourth edition of their successful mentoring programme. Under the title "Your Compass for Career Entry", the 13 tandems of mentees and experienced mentors got to know each other for the first time at the Unternehmerschaft Niederrhein premises on Ostwall in Krefeld and are now starting the mentoring phase together.
The programme is aimed at female graduates of The Hochschule Niederrhein in the fields of Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Administration and Economics, Health Care, Chemistry, Engineering and Computer Science as well as Nutrition and Food Sciences. The tandems are now working closely together for six months, taking part in practical orientation workshops on personal development, self-reflection and application training and gaining insights into companies in the region.
"It is essential for the regional economy to specifically promote young women as the specialists of tomorrow. Through the mentoring programme, we not only strengthen individual careers, but also secure qualified young talent for companies in the Lower Rhine region in the long term," says Kirs-ten Wittke-Lemm, Managing Director of Unternehmerschaft Niederrhein.
"It is gratifying to see how quickly the tandems came together at the kick-off," adds Professor Ralf Kampker, initiator of the programme at The Hochschule Niederrhein. "The direct encounters and personal exchanges are very valuable for the mentees to recognise their potential and professional opportunities."
Dr Sandra Laumen, Equal Opportunities Officer at The Hochschule Niederrhein, is also enthusiastic about the mentoring programme and its launch. "The mentees have not only got to know their mentors, but have also started to build a network that will support them in the long term."
"The collaboration in the tandems is a real win-win situation," emphasises Pola Jungmann, project manager and owner of MUTWEGE - Coaching & Beratung. "The mentees develop their skills further, while the mentors can share their experience and actively contribute their network."
With the start of the fourth round, the Unternehmerschaft Niederrhein, The Hochschule Niederrhein and the "Leading Ladies in Town" network are continuing their successful cooperation and emphasising their joint commitment to promoting young female talent in the Niederrhein region. "We are excited about the coming months and look forward to leveraging personnel potential with the programme once again - from the region for the region," concludes Kirsten Wittke-Lemm.
