Stadtsparkasse Mönchengladbach honours students for excellent theses

Meticulous diligence pays off: Max Möller from Stadtsparkasse Mönchengladbach was honoured for his outstanding Bachelor's thesis. The prize, worth 1,500 euros, was presented by Professor Dr Bernd Müller from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) and Antonius Bergmann, Chairman of the Savings Bank Board.

Following his apprenticeship as a bank clerk at the Sparkasse, Max Möller completed career-integrated studies in business administration at the HSNR. "I am very pleased with the appreciation shown to me by Stadtsparkasse Mönchengladbach and The Hochschule Niederrhein," says the 24-year-old, who is currently working at the Rheindahlen branch.

In his thesis, he focussed on the effects of the introduction to the digital euro using the example of Sparkasse Mönchengladbach. "I deliberately chose this topic for my Bachelor's thesis because it is not only highly topical, but will also remain significant in the future. The thesis should contribute to an understanding of the challenges posed by the digital transformation of our financial system," explained Möller.

Antonius Bergmann was pleased to note: "The successful collaboration with the university and the resulting success, in this case the outstanding work of Mr Möller, is a fine example of how fruitful the exchange between science and business can be. We are very pleased that we were able to accompany Mr Möller on this path." Mr Bergmann, who is also Chairman of the Executive Board of the support association Business Administration and Economics Hochschule Niederrhein e.V., also expressed his great gratitude to Professor Möller for the decades of good cooperation.

Since 2012, Stadtsparkasse Mönchengladbach has honoured outstanding bachelor's and master's theses from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics that deal with banking and finance-related topics.
