From the 2026/27 winter semester onwards, Sparkasse Krefeld will be supporting ten students at the Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR). The scholarships will be awarded under the name ‘Sparkasse Krefeld Future Scholarship’. The partnership was officially sealed last Thursday at the HSNR’s Future Work Lab.
The selected students will receive 300 euros per month for one year as part of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship. In addition to academic achievements, social engagement and special personal or family circumstances are also taken into account in the selection process. “With these Future Scholarships, we aim to give students the necessary financial breathing space so that they can concentrate on their studies. As a regional institution, it is important to us to support young people here locally and open up good prospects for them. Ten scholarships at once send a strong signal to our outstanding, motivated students that their commitment is being rewarded and their achievements recognised. The financial support can provide real relief for them during their studies and, at the same time, opens up contacts with a key employer in the region,” says University President Prof. Dr Susanne Meyer.
The HSNR has been participating in the Deutschlandstipendium since 2011 and has awarded over 2,500 scholarships since then. As a result, the HSNR has been one of the most successful universities nationwide in this funding programme for many years.
