From 25 November to 10 December 2025, numerous campaigns will take place as part of the international UN "Orange Days" campaign to draw attention to violence against women and girls and highlight existing abuses. The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) is once again sending out a clear signal and, together with the ZONTA Clubs Krefeld and Krefeld am Rhein, is organising two events.
On 25 November, the International Day against Violence against Women and Girls, the Equal Opportunities Officer of the HSNR, Dr Sandra Laumen, the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and the ZONTA Clubs Krefeld and Krefeld am Rhein are organising the event "From Dickpics to Deepfakes - Recognising, Naming and Acting on Digital Violence against Women". Kathi Heffe from HateAid, a non-profit organisation that supports those affected by digital violence, will provide an insight into current developments: from AI-generated deepfakes and everyday digital assaults to legal and preventative options for action. The event is aimed at victims, multipliers and all interested parties.
Participation is free of charge. The event starts at 5 pm (admission from 4.30 pm) in the J-Building of the HSNR (Room JE09, Obergath 79) on the Krefeld South Campus. Digital participation via Zoom is also possible. You can register via the following link:

The joint kick-off event will take place on 26 November 2025 at the Future Work Lab (Peterstraße 122) in Krefeld city centre. From 5 p.m., visitors can expect a combination of art presentation and expert discussion. Selected works from the "Play for today" project, which was created in cooperation with the Krefeld art museums and the Marienschule, will be on display.
This will be followed by an interactive panel discussion entitled "meet the experts". Representatives from central Krefeld institutions - including the network against domestic violence, the women's counselling centre, the police headquarters and Inner Wheel Krefeld - will discuss solutions and support services for those affected under the moderation of Laura Ihme (Rheinische Post). Information material will also be available and there will be space for discussion and individual questions.
Both events are organised by the Equal Opportunities Officer of the HSNR and the ZONTA Clubs Krefeld and Krefeld am Rhein and are part of the "Orange Days", a global initiative of UN Women. The aim of the days of action is to draw attention to the many forms of gender-based violence and to campaign for a future free of violence against women and girls.
