The regular dean elections have taken place at the ten faculties of the Hochschule Niederrhein. Every five years, the faculty councils elect the dean and their deputies from among the professors. The dean heads the faculty and represents it within the university. In close consultation with the Presidential Board, they drive the development of their faculty, for example by developing concepts for new Degree programmes.
In the current elections, three faculties elected new leaders. After ten years as Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Prof. Dr. Michael Schleusener is handing over his office to Prof. Dr. Ralph Pernice. There is also a change at the top of the Faculty of Mechanical and Process Engineering: Prof. Dr. Marc Gennat is the new Dean. At the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, the new dean is Prof. Dr. Michael Müller-Vorbrüggen. His predecessor in office, Prof. Dr. Siegried Kirsch, is returning to the ranks of professors after two terms of office.
