Learning to argue, working in a team, dealing with stress - The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) Winter Academy offers a wide range of seminars. From now until February 12, students, employees and external participants can register for various workshops in the "Future Skills" area. From February 19 to 28, around 30 seminars will be offered on topics such as teamwork, critical thinking, mindfulness and communication skills.
Interested parties will learn, for example, how to negotiate their salary, how to develop their potential, how to become rhetorically fit, how to write a thesis, how to react quickly and spontaneously or how to use good arguments in discussions. Topics such as work-life balance, emotional intelligence and intercultural communication are also covered. The courses take place online or in person: Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
The motto of the Winter Academy is "The Hochschule Niederrhein qualifies further". For ten years now, professors and external experts have been offering content from the field of key competencies, which are important for success in studies and careers in addition to subject-specific skills. "I am delighted that 2024 is an anniversary year. This shows that the acquisition of key competencies is and remains important both for individual development and for success in various areas of life," says Heike Kröpke, Head of the Winter Academy. The courses offer the opportunity to further develop one's own personality. There are special courses on offer for individual target groups such as those with professional qualifications or women.
Those who are already studying at The Hochschule Niederrhein pay ten euros for a 1-day seminar and 15 euros for a 2-day seminar. Employees of the university pay 20 (1-day seminar) or 40 euros (2-day seminar), external participants pay 50 euros or 100 euros. A certificate will be issued after successful participation.
