Study Orientation Weeks at The Hochschule Niederrhein

If you want to study after leaving school but don't yet know which direction to take, the study orientation weeks are just the thing for you.

From January 13 to February 9, The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) has put together a varied, hybrid program to present its ten faculties online or in person.

The program starts at Krefeld South Campus with the Engineering Days. The four Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mechanical and Process Engineering and Industrial Engineering will open their doors on January 19 and 20. Students will present their projects and visitors can find out more about studying engineering and get advice.

The Central Student Advice Center will provide advice and information on all HSNR degree programmes and questions about studying in the foyer of the Viersen town hall on 8 February from 2 pm to 5 pm.

There will also be guided tours of the campus and presentations, including on student financing options (in the Kempen City Library), job market prospects for engineers in cooperation with the Federal Employment Agency (online) and on the energy transition and artificial intelligence (online). In workshops, participants can, for example, determine the hardness of water (Krefeld South Campus), learn more about the trendy drink Kombucha (Campus Mönchengladbach) or immerse themselves in the world of data networks (Krefeld South Campus). In the online "Meet the student" sessions, students report first-hand on what it's like to live and learn at the HSNR. At the Youth Science Camp "KReateFUTURE" on January 22, young visitors can develop ideas on various topics and pitch them to a jury.

All times, locations and registration options can be found in the program at:

The Study Orientation Weeks are a joint initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Science, the Ministry of Schools and Education, the Regional Directorate of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Federal Employment Agency and the universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
