Thinking Culture. German Philosophy, Culture, and Translation' - Lecture & discussion
Cultures develop through processes of intercultural or transcultural exchange. Such processes need to be facilitated by the work of translation between different languages and idioms. As a practice involving engagement with foreign languages, different cultural worldviews and ways of life, the work of translation requires us to reflect on the ways in which people from different countries or belonging to different linguistic communities express their thoughts and feelings.
Programme
