Applied psychology (B.Sc.)

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.

Short description

Why study Applied Psychology?

Would you like to understand people better and use your knowledge to contribute to the promotion of individual health?

Here at The Hochschule Niederrhein, you will study the scientific foundation courses of human experience and behaviour and will be able to apply your newly acquired knowledge in various project and practical modules or directly in the company. You will get to know specific fields of application during your studies.

The Health Psychology specialisation starts with basic psychology subjects. These include, for example, biopsychology and neuropsychology, general psychology and differential psychology. In general psychology, you will learn, for example, how people make decisions and derive actions from them. In the further course of your studies, you will then learn how you can use this knowledge to better understand how people make decisions regarding their health and can derive suitable health psychology prevention concepts from this, for example. Understanding human behaviour has different advantages in different application contexts: For example, it enables health information to be communicated in such a way that it reaches people and is effective.

Although you are studying at an applied university, the degree programme is based on the recommendations of the German Society for Psychology (DGPs). This means that even if you have a great deal of application and practical relevance in your studies with us, your studies are still structured as recommended by the DGPs and comply with the recommendations of the DGPs quality seal.
