The Hochschule Niederrhein offers all prospective students the opportunity to attend one or more lectures. The open lectures are regular lectures from the first semesters.

Attending these courses will give you a first impression of the Degree programmes. You will get to know lecturers and students and experience the atmosphere at the Hochschule Niederrhein.

It is not the purpose of the taster visit to fully understand the content of the lecture. Rather, use the open lecture to recognize and experience differences from what you are used to at school or in your everyday working life.

Lectures for the winter semester 2023/24 are currently being added. Please be patient if the faculty you are interested in does not have any lectures yet.

The "Weeks of Study Orientation" are a joint initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Science, the Ministry of Schools and Education, the Regional Directorate of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Federal Employment Agency and the NRW universities. The Hochschule Niederrhein is once again offering a diverse, hybrid program. You can expect:

• CAMPUS DAYS of the faculties
• Digital workshops with students, e.g. "Studies and scholarship, how does it work?"
• Lectures on technical Degree programmes (on-site and digital)
• Digital lectures on study orientation
• Campus tours
• Topic: Financing studies - ArbeiterKind.de
• Individual career counseling - Federal Employment Agency

In cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Science (MKW), the Central Student Advice Offices in NRW have implemented the "Long Evening of Student Advice". It takes place simultaneously at all universities in NRW.

The Hochschule Niederrhein also hosts the "Long Evening". The Central Student Advice Office of the HSNR organizes a small in-house fair on questions concerning application, registration and student financing!

• Information booths on all ten faculties of the Hochschule Niederrhein
• Questions about application and registration can be addressed directly to the Student Services!
• Arbeiterkind.de will answer your questions about financing your studies (BAföG, scholarships and student loans).
• The Zentrale Student Advice (Central Student Advice) will give you brief assistance in case of acute decision-making difficulties and will advise and inform you about the Degree programmes at the Hochschule Niederrhein.
• Career counseling by the Federal Employment Agency
• Campus tour by a student
