During the symposium, Florian Grebe had the opportunity to present research results on the perception of bioeconomy strategies on financial markets. The research paper looks at the financial market reactions to the publication of bioeconomy strategies in the USA and the EU and finds a rather negative market reaction on average. The research results were obtained as part of the AUFBRUCH graduate cluster, based at NIERS and The Hochschule Niederrhein. The conference paper is also the result of a collaboration between Florian Grebe (NIERS), Leonard Grebe (TU Darmstadt) and Daniel Hermann (University of Bonn).
In the AUFBRUCH project, NIERS is focussing on the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy in the Rhenish mining region as well as on general (regional) economic aspects and the effects of a bioeconomy. Further information can be found here.
