Around 130 participants addressed this question at the 4th Krefeld Integration Conference on 16 October 2025 under the title "Desire and reality of integration". Representatives from politics, the labour market, education, associations and initiatives met at the Krefelder Hof to discuss how the integration of people with an international family history is succeeding in Krefeld - and where there is still a need for action.

In addition to exciting presentations from the Institute for Labour Market and Occupational Research and the "Companies Integrate Refugees" network, the focus was on interactive workshops on the topics of the migrant economy, labour market integration, education and social participation. The impulses and results of the conference will be incorporated into the further development of the city's integration strategy.

Halide Özkurt (Social Service for Muslim Women) and Sarah Brechmann attended the event on behalf of the RediStar team. Together with the whole team, they are delighted with the successful event, the further and new networking with numerous stakeholders in the field of integration and the fact that together they set an example for diversity, cooperation and social participation.
