The current event on 28 January 2026 took place in cooperation with the Middle Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Around 30 participants were present on site and other interested parties took part in the dialogue digitally.
The aim of the recycling project initiated in 2024 is to transfer the textile and clothing industry in the Middle Lower Rhine region into a real circular economy. Three institutes (NIERS, FTB and CTL) at The Hochschule Niederrhein are researching this forward-looking project.
This time, the focus was on two highly topical issues: the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and Scale-MX. The Digital Product Passport was presented as an important tool for creating transparency and traceability in the textile value chain and discussed with regard to future regulatory requirements. The opportunities and challenges of the DPP from a company's perspective were also highlighted. Scale-MX was also discussed as a neutral, cross-industry data transmission format that enables standardised and secure networking of players along the supply and process chains and thus makes an important contribution to the digital transformation of the industry and the implementation of a circular textile economy.
The regulars' table provided space for an exchange of experiences, open discussions and networking.
Many thanks to the IHK Mönchengladbach for the excellent organisation and for providing the venue. We would also like to thank all participants for their valuable contributions.
