Firstly, course leader Milena Dehnavi will give a lecture on common fast fashion practices in the course "Rethink-Textilewaste - Sewing as a feminist practice". The specialisation will be on the textile supply chain and the exploitation of mostly female workers. This will be followed by a workshop that will elevate handicraft away from being compulsory to an empowering tool for self-design and an expression of personal creative freedom. Here, individual pieces are made from textile waste in order to give new value to what has been thrown away.
