Karola Rosenberg: Domestic violence in family law: "It takes two to argue" - How wrong ways of thinking prevent protection for women and children
How child-friendly is our justice system really? What happens when violence in family proceedings is not recognised or not taken seriously? Family law specialist Karola Rosenberg provides insights from over ten years of nationwide work in highly contentious custody and access proceedings. Using practical examples, she shows the fatal consequences that thinking patterns such as "It takes two to argue" can have and how crucial a sound professional apprenticeship is for effective protection against violence and child protection.Karola Rosenberg is a lawyer and family law specialist, founder of the law firm Trennung mit Kind and has been accompanying separations with children nationwide for over 10 years. Trained as an expert negotiator through the methods of Harvard Law School and the NRW Police, she has negotiated international child abductions and represented Germany's interests for the Federal Foreign Office at the United Nations in New York City/USA, in Atlanta/USA and at the German Embassy in Malawi/Africa. Her aim is to resolve conflicts and work together with her clients to create a peaceful and safe post-separation family.
