NRW doctoral programme: Young scientists as guests at the HSNR

The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) hosted the doctoral colloquium of the Resources and Sustainability department of the NRW Doctoral College (PK NRW) on Thursday. Around 60 participants found their way to Krefeld. Dr Jörg Meyer, Professor of Energy Management and Energy Technology at the HSNR's Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, welcomed the guests.

A total of 29 scientists offered exciting insights into their research topics through presentations. Patrick Lehnen from TH Köln spoke about "Tracking transients: Localising transient and harmonic effects in distribution grids", Simon Anke from FH Südwestfalen spoke about "Coatings for improved determination of surface temperature" and Lisa Schmitt from the host Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences offered insights into the "Development of an evaluation method for assessing the climate impact of projects in sub-Saharan Africa".
The doctoral students from the Media and Interaction department of the PK NRW were already guests at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences at the end of November 2024. At the Mönchengladbach campus, Professor Jürgen Karla from the Department of Economics took on the role of host.
PK NRW is an institution of the universities of applied sciences (HAW) in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) that is authorised to award doctorates. As a doctoral network, it offers qualification opportunities in the field of application-oriented research and facilitates doctorates within the framework of structured programmes.
