333 Bachelor's and 100 Master's graduates were trained at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the Hochschule Niederrhein during the pandemic. After a long break, the graduation ceremony could finally be held in person again, where the best works were honored and the sponsorship award of the ZONTA Club Mönchengladbach II was presented.
Dean Prof. Dr. Siegfried Kirsch was able to welcome a total of 450 graduates and their escorts at the first presence farewell ceremony since the pandemic. Especially nice: some of the guests were graduates from the class of 1971. 50 years after their degree, they visited the university and celebrated the graduates of the current classes.
This year, the distinction for the best Bachelor's thesis went to Henning Gotzes, a dual student in business administration. In a thesis on "Emotionalization of marketing communication in food retailing", he analyzed the impact of audiovisual, emotional advertising in relation to purely informative advertising.
The best master's thesis this year went to Laura Hohls, who studied in the Career-Integrated Degree Programmes in Business Law (LL.M.). She dealt with employee retention through company pension schemes in a company in the metal and electrical industry.
Normally, the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics also awards distinctions to the most successful doctoral student. Unfortunately, there was none this year, but the ZONTA sponsorship prize was awarded. This went to Meike Schulz in the career-integrated bachelor's degree program in business administration. The project buyer of the Düsseldorf Rheinbahn AG completed her studies with a grade of 1.4. The sponsorship award is endowed with 1500 euros. The ZONTA Club Mönchengladbach II sponsorship award is presented every two years at the Hochschule Niederrhein for special achievements by a student in her studies. The faculties that are sponsored change every year.
