The starting signal has been given for the registration phase of the Winter Academy of the Hochschule Niederrhein. Since January 5th, students, employees and external interested parties can register for various workshops. Between February 14th and 23rd, around 30 seminars will be offered, including seminars on topics such as rhetoric, time management, scientific writing, intercultural team training and interviewing skills. The courses take place online or in presence at the Mönchengladbach location.

Since 2005, professors and external experts have been offering content from the field of key competencies. The Winter Academy is held under the motto "Hochschule Niederrhein qualifies further". Key competencies are interdisciplinary skills that are important for success in studies and career. The courses offer the opportunity to further develop one's own personality. There are special course offerings for individual target groups, such as those with professional qualifications or women.

Heike Kröpke, head of the Winter Academy, is convinced by the program: "In the Winter Academy, we can teach key competencies in an activating learning atmosphere. The participants work in small groups, which allows us to respond to everyone individually."

For students at The Hochschule Niederrhein, participation fees are ten euros for one-day seminars and 15 euros for two-day seminars. Employees of the Hochschule Niederrhein pay 20 euros for one-day seminars and 40 euros for two-day seminars. External participants are charged 50 euros for one-day seminars and 100 euros for two-day seminars. After successful participation, a certificate of attendance will be sent or issued.

The events usually last from 10 am to 5 pm. Registration for students takes place via the online course catalog HIO.
