Typical student? - Semester break...

Semester breaks are infinitely long and yet too short when you can spend them on vacation with friends. Officially, they are not called semester breaks, but "lecture-free time".

Its often mixed up that this time is not really "free", but reserved for events that do not take place "in the semester" as a lecture. Practical exercises, experiments in the laboratory, the preparation of homework and project assignments, and boring learning can make the semester break very busy and short. Nevertheless, Christian Kraemer always had the opportunity to enjoy this special time with his fellow students. After leaving school, his professional career initially took him on the classic path of an apprenticeship with the Krefeld-based company Kleinewefers. However, he quickly followed this up with studies in business administration with specialisations in marketing, controlling and foreign trade. Looking back, the first thing that comes to his mind is the economics class he took with Prof. Didszun. He has fond memories of his views on the development of the EU up to that time and of the global view of the interrelationships in foreign trade. After his studies, Christian Kraemer started working for STRABAG. Today, he is a division manager in commercial controlling and works in consulting in real estate project development at STRABAG Real Estate GmbH, and has been doing so for almost 25 years.

The decision for the company and the decision for the business studies were probably well chosen. If he could change anything about the studies, he adds in retrospect that he probably should have focused more on language skills. Because if you ask him what he would study today, the answer is clear: "Business administration again, but I would focus more intensively on language skills.
