Spinning with passion

From the title, it is clear that Klaus Freimuth must have studied textile technology in Mönchengladbach. And indeed, his specialisation was thread and fabric production and he remembers well the subject "Spinning" with Prof. Grütz.

All in all, the entire studies were a well-rounded experience and when, in addition to "normal" lectures, the studies also provide unforgettable moments such as the internships in the machine laboratory with Mr. Rüttgers or the microscopy and fiber analysis with Prof. Berndt, it becomes clear that he looks back on his time as a student with pleasure.

In addition to the university teachers / lecturers, who always had an open ear for the students and were there to offer advice and support, the cohesion among fellow students was something Klaus Freimuth remembers fondly. The close bond, the we-feeling that developed, and learning together in studies and for written examinations characterized this time. "Everyone was happy to pass on their special skills and knowledge in order to help others in the course of their studies" he summarizes.

Of course, "typical student life" is also associated with parties in the refectory and many hours with fellow students at Café Trotzdem in Mönchengladbach. But he also has fond memories of excursions and visits to trade shows lasting several days, such as ITMA in Milan in 1995 or Première Vision in Paris. A tour of the Bolten brewery in Korschenbroich would be just as repeatable today as a visit to a Bundesliga match. For that, however, he would now have to visit Borussiapark and no longer Bökelberg.

Klaus Freimuth, who works as a project manager in the Research & Development department of the Laundry business unit at Miele & Cie. KG in Gütersloh, would study textile technology again today. His reason is virtually also advice for those who are still undecided about their choice of Degree programme: "This is my passion and also a matter of the heart!"
