10th CSD Mönchengladbach – a colourful smash hit!

A clear stance in Mönchengladbach: We were, are and will remain. Visible and free!

On Saturday, together with the PrideProgress network, Gleichstellung, the AStA and lots of brilliant people, we really made the CSD anniversary in Mönchengladbach a blast!

11.30 – final tweaks to our stand in Hans-Jonas-Park, a spontaneous group photo (the legendary drag queen V_Van_Dick briefly ‘crashed’ our shot) and then off we went towards Minto.

12:00 – Start of the march: Hindenburgstraße → Alten Markt → Viersener Straße → Steinmetzstraße → Albertusstraße → Bismarckstraße → back to Hindenburgstraße.

Highlights:

We got lots of young people and parents excited and announced our open day in November straight away (save the date: 14 Nov 2026 → www.hs-niederrhein.de/tag-der-offenen-tuer/).

We were visited by Minister Verena Schäffer (Ministry for Children, Young People, Family, Equality, Refugees & Integration, North Rhine-Westphalia), who discussed anti-feminism, queerphobia and the vital importance of events such as the CSD.

A HUGE thank you to all our colleagues, students and, of course, every visitor who celebrated with us – loudly, proudly and happily!

And now: fancy some more colourful energy? The next CSD is taking place in Krefeld on 15 August – we’ll be there again with PrideProgress, the Equality Office and the AStA.

Let’s keep the rainbow rolling!
