Lawyer Martina Lörsch was commissioned to implement the programme. Together with her colleagues, she offers independent and cross-university initial legal counselling and supports those affected and internal university departments in the legal classification of incidents as well as with questions regarding possible reporting and complaints channels.
The service is aimed at
all members of public universities (students and employees) and employees of university hospitals as well as
internal university contact and advice centres (e.g. equal opportunities and anti-discrimination officers, AStA advice centres, etc.).
The main cornerstones of the service are
Confidential, independent and, if desired, anonymous legal counselling (no legal representation, no client relationship, no clarification of facts);
Information on rights, obligations, possible complaints procedures (e.g. AGG or disciplinary complaints) and their consequences, e.g. as part of workshops or training courses;
Orientation to other internal and external contact points;
Support, especially if internal counselling services are no longer sufficient or there is a lack of trust in them.
The contact point thus sees itself as a complementary instance that does not replace internal university structures, but rather takes over where these reach their limits.
The lawyers can now be contacted by telephone on 0221 973 128-53 and by email at info(at)rechtsberatung-machtmissbrauch.nrw. A micro-page(www.rechtsberatung-machtmissbrauch.nrw) is currently being created to provide information about the service. This is expected to go live in the course of the month.
