Krefeld in the 1930s: Kaspar and Wilhelm have been best friends since childhood. By now, the two young people are inseparable in their apprenticeship and also in the training centre - the strict daily routine under the strict regiment of supervisor Fischer is much easier to bear as a couple. Nevertheless, Kaspar struggles with the situation in the apprentices' home, which feels more and more like a cage to him. When he meets Franz one evening, everything suddenly turns upside down: Kaspar has to admit to himself that he feels more for the mysterious Franz than mere friendship. But these forbidden feelings mean danger: not only for his friendship with Wilhelm, but also for his life.
