The exhibition is the first comprehensive presentation in Europe to visualise the significant contribution of queer artists to fashion. With over 130 works by 34 international artists - including Claude Cahun, Hannah Höch, Jean Cocteau and Romaine Brooks - it tells an alternative history of fashion: of desire, gender, sexuality, self-expression, but also of queer realities of life in times of war, persecution and resistance.
Voices from the group:
"The guided tour was great - a lot of things wouldn't have come across on a visit alone."
One student was particularly emotionally moved: The exhibition makes it impressively clear how much strength and creativity it took to conceal - and at the same time express - one's own identity.
One conclusion that stuck:
- Queerness has been around for a very long time - and was just as diverse as it is today.
- Tip: The exhibition's action space is also particularly beautiful - a place to discuss, read, create statements, take photos or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
- Open until 15 February - highly recommended!
And now the question for you: What will we do next time?
