In an open atmosphere with a lively exchange, central concepts such as power and domination relations, privileges, various forms of discrimination and epistemic injustice were introduced in an understandable way and linked with examples from obstetrics and medicine.
It became clear that intersectional perspectives help to make structural disadvantages visible, for example through racist, ableist or cis- and heteronormative norms, and thus identify starting points for change in Health Care. Both challenges such as a lack of education on intersectionality, the need for self-reflection and inert structures and opportunities were discussed: improved healthcare for all, more inclusive working conditions and the importance of even small changes in everyday working life.
