Zero Discrimination Day | 01 March 2026

Zero tolerance for discrimination - but all the more attitude, diversity and cohesion.

The United Nations' international Zero Discrimination Day draws global attention to the importance of equality and inclusion. It sends out a clear signal against marginalisation in all its forms. Because everyone deserves to live in respect and dignity - regardless of origin, gender or other characteristics.

This commitment is also actively practised at the Hochschule Niederrhein:
Visibility: The Pride flag has been flying at all university locations since 2025 - as a clear sign of tolerance, respect and diversity.
Attitude: As part of the "Hochschulen zeigen Haltung" campaign, we are committed to an open and non-discriminatory university culture throughout the year.
Responsibility: For the first time, the commemoration of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust (27 January) took place at the Hochschule Niederrhein - actively organised by students.

Today - and every day - we stand up for an open, non-discriminatory university culture.
