Get to know us

Surveys of our students have shown that our graduates are perfectly equipped for the job market! Around a third of all students have already found their dream job during their studies, because their dream employer was already found during their studies. Another third write a maximum of four applications during this time. Benefit in the area of recruiting and employer branding through contacts with the university and numerous opportunities for cooperation, such as the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship.

In addition to theoutstanding achievements of our students, the high practical component of our degree programmes and the networking of The Hochschule Niederrhein with the regional and national economy also contribute to this success. Companies and the university have always maintained an intensive dialogue.

As a partner to industry, The Hochschule Niederrhein continuously adapts its programmes of study to new economic developments and the needs of companies. Our laboratories and workshops provide scientific and practical qualifications, which are supplemented bypractical phases, projects and theses with our business partners.

Talk to us: we will be happy to advise you on cooperation opportunities and arrange contacts in the faculties.

Opportunity for Companies

Sponsors of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship have the opportunity to inspire our best performing and most determined students for their company. These are the students who, due to their outstanding performance profile, have secured their jobs before graduation. The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship is a wonderful personnel planning tool, especially in the area of recruiting and in view of the omnipresent shortage of skilled labour.

Sponsors also benefit in the area of employer branding. They position themselves as a modern, progressive employer that plans for the long term, invests in its employees, participates in government programmes and cooperates with universities. An attractive employer for graduates and experienced specialists alike.

You make contact with the university and faculties. For example, as part of the annual scholarship award ceremony. Benefit from the exchange between business and science.

Pioneers and trailblazers of dual study programmes

We are the pioneers and trailblazers of dual study programmes with over 30 years of tradition.

The Hochschule Niederrhein offers a total of more than 15 dual degree programmes, directly linking qualified young talent to companies and familiarising them with company work processes during their studies. Dual degree programmes are therefore an important instrument for companies to secure skilled workers for demanding target positions at an early stage - especially for small and medium-sized companies.

Studies & Apprenticeship Diploma & Master

The trial study format Skilled Trades Management - Business Administration enables you to qualify and secure the next generation of specialists and managers in the skilled trades sector.
During the studies, trade and business management skills are taught in equal measure. The aim is to obtain three degrees (apprenticeship diploma, master craftsperson's certificate (Meisterbrief), Bachelor's degree B.A.) in just one degree programme. In this way, specialists in the trade are apprenticed while at the same time mastering extensive business management knowledge.
In addition, an early commitment to the training company is achieved. This Triple degree programme will initially only be combined with an apprenticeship as an electrician or carpenter. There are plans to expand the programme to include other skilled trades sectors.

Did you know?

All dual programmes of study are free of charge for companies at The Hochschule Niederrhein.
The companies only pay the standard wage. Students have to pay a semester fee once per semester, which is usually reimbursed by the companies.
For the phase after the apprenticeship, the company decides individually on continued employment.
Companies are responsible for selecting suitable candidates with a higher education entrance qualification. For some dual degree programmes, the training contract guarantees a university place (admission-free) and for others there is an admission restriction in the form of a numerus clausus.
Prospective students have to apply online for a dual study programme at The Hochschule Niederrhein at the same time. After admission to the dual studies programme, the training contract must be submitted upon registration.
Compulsory vocational school attendance is normally waived for dual study programme students. Students must prepare themselves independently, if necessary with the support of the company, for the skilled labour examination before the chamber/institution. Preparatory courses are offered by external institutions for individual degree programmes.
The special features, deadlines, exam preparation courses etc. are broken down for each study format in the overview of dual degree programmes (see above). Additional information can be obtained from the respective faculties' contacts.

Leadership & Management

The targeted development of junior managers is a key success factor for companies. The Hochschule Niederrhein's career-integrated MBA programme "Leadership & Management" offers a practical and sustainable qualification opportunity for this - ideal for employees with development potential.

The degree programme is aimed at ambitious specialists who want to qualify for future management tasks. Students learn, for example, how to critically reflect on their own leadership behaviour, initiate innovation and change processes and drive digital transformation. This programme offers several advantages for companies: The courses take place on Friday evenings as well as Saturdays. This means that your employees remain fully involved in day-to-day business for the entire duration of the programme and continue to be available to your company without restriction.

At the same time, your company will benefit from fresh impetus and new perspectives: The content covered in the studies is with a practical emphasis/ orientation and is geared towards current management challenges. What you learn can be applied immediately in everyday business life - the transfer is direct and measurable. There is also the opportunity to work on specific business issues as part of studies and project assignments. This not only creates an immediate benefit for your company, but also sponsors the entrepreneurial thinking of your employees.

Over the course of the MBA programme, participants develop not only professionally but also personally. They strengthen their strategic, analytical and communication skills - competences that are essential for taking on management responsibility. The structured curriculum, the exchange with lecturers from science and practice and the interdisciplinary learning group also promote the development of a professional understanding of leadership.

The Hochschule Niederrhein's career-integrated MBA programme is an investment in the future of your company. It qualifies your employees specifically for management tasks, promotes the retention of talented specialists and opens up new perspectives for innovation and competitiveness.

Service for Companies: Transfer

Companies must face up to the constantly increasing demands of the market and accept this challenge. Increasing competitive pressure requires new ways to secure growth. In order to maintain their market position, companies are forced to expand their product range or to open up and occupy new markets with new products.
At the same time, companies are faced with the challenge of making production more economical and producing more cost-effectively with the help of new technologies. Qualified employees play an important role in the rapid and effective utilisation of new machines and processes.
Time is an important factor in this process, as prolonged hesitation or excessively long start-up times can mean a loss of market advantages. Shorter product life cycles also mean shorter utilisation times and amortisation must be achieved through market share and not price.
A successful way to achieve the desired entrepreneurial goals is to find solutions together with competent partners.

Innovation is an invitation to dialogue and cooperation
The Hochschule Niederrhein, as a cooperation partner, offers a wide range of expertise to support the innovation process in companies. A large number of professors are available to provide companies with advice and assistance in solving their problems:

  • Developments that would tie up too much capacity in the companies can be given to the university as research and development projects.
  • Delimited, manageable issues can be dealt with as bachelor's and master's theses.
  • Consultations, expert opinions and continuing education are offered by professors.
  • Facilities and laboratories can be used for measuring and testing purposes.

The Hochschule Niederrhein's Research and Transfer Department is the organisation that helps companies to make the professors' knowledge available to their company. It helps to find the right expert for open questions and organises interdisciplinary processing for complex problems.

Foundation Chairs

The establishment of endowed chairs/professorships at The Hochschule Niederrhein expands the teaching and research programme and establishes important, forward-looking research directions at the university. Endowed chairs and professorships create a special relationship between the sponsor, the university and the faculties' staff. This can be expressed in the fundamental orientation of the chair's work as well as in practice-related research work, joint student projects and the ongoing exchange of experience.
It is also possible to jointly fund a chair/professorship with other sponsors.
In addition to sponsoring human resources, other options include funding the position of an academic staff memberor expanding the infrastructure of the chair (e.g. seminar room equipment).
