Save the Date: Campus Week 2026

26–30 October 2026 | Theme: HSNR: Shaping Higher Education Together

The programme is now available!

How do we want to shape our university together? What is needed to foster new ideas, bring together different perspectives and turn dialogue into genuine collaboration? Campus Week 2026 invites students, lecturers and staff to explore these questions together and to turn the university into a place for experimentation, discussion and co-creation for a week.

Under the theme ‘HSNR: Shaping Higher Education Together’, the focus is on encounter, participation and collaboration. After all, higher education flourishes where people come together, share ideas, challenge the status quo and develop new ideas together.

From 26 to 30 October 2026, the university community can look forward to a diverse programme that brings people and perspectives together – often across departmental boundaries, in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary ways, and even beyond the confines of the university itself. Workshops, seminars, discussions, projects, exhibitions, performances, activities and social events offer the opportunity to discover new things, engage in conversation with one another and experience the university in a different light.

A particular point of focus this year is the development of the new university development plan for the next five years. Campus Week will address questions that are also key to the future development of our university: How do we want to learn, engage in teaching education, conduct research and collaborate in the future? What makes a university one we are happy to be part of? And which ideas would we like to bring to life together?

The result is a programme that brings together a variety of topics, perspectives and formats, showcasing just how diverse university life can be.

Come and join us! Use Campus Week as an opportunity to look beyond your own faculty and day-to-day work, to get to know new people and explore new topics, and to experience university life together.

If you have any questions, the organising team will be happy to help at campuswoche(at)hs-niederrhein.de.

Statement on Campus Week

“The world does not stop at the boundaries between disciplines: a week of interdisciplinary, extracurricular studies featuring events that encourage exchange between students and staff from different faculties. That is what Campus Week is all about. We warmly invite the university community to help shape the programme and join in the discussions. The doors to other faculties and to the diverse institutions within our university are open to you – both on-site in MG and Krefeld and online. We hope you gain exciting insights and inspiration for university-wide teaching education and learning – with heartfelt thanks to all colleagues and students who are actively helping to shape Campus Week and creating an extraordinary opportunity for exchange for us all.”

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gudrun Stockmanns
Prof. Dr. Donja Amirpur

Nick, FB08: “Campus Week really is something special. Normally, we’re confined to our own faculties and only see what’s going on there. Campus Week has the potential to strengthen the sense of community at our university and broaden the horizons of our education. I made the most of Campus Week!”

Negar, FB07: “Campus Week is undoubtedly an asset to student life. It would be fantastic if Campus Week received even more attention and were continually expanded to give even more students the chance to broaden their knowledge beyond their own faculty.”

Julius, FB08: “Campus Week gives you an insight into other subject areas without missing out on anything in your own faculty. Personally, I attended four different modules during the week. I feel that the opportunity to look into other faculties and gain insights there really enriches my studies. I can only recommend that everyone takes part in Campus Week and makes use of the insights gained throughout the rest of their studies.”

Thomas, FB05: “The Campus Week gave me the chance to broaden my horizons and discover new interests. I was really impressed by the varied programme and the interdisciplinary approach, particularly the opportunity to engage with other faculties. I was also able to make valuable contacts and expand my network at the university. It was an inspiring experience that showed me how important it is to think outside the box.”
