Following the positive re-registration of "Technology for Grandparents" in previous years, the series of events will be continued in 2026.

"Technology for Grandparents" is aimed at grandparents, parents and other interested adults as well as (grand)children and aims to make technical and scientific topics accessible across generations.

Four thematically independent modules will be offered in 2026. Participation is free of charge.

• With pressure upwards: Foundation courses of motion and recoil
• Electricity from light: Understanding energy conversion
• ElectricsTrick 2.0 - Understanding and using LEDs in a targeted manner

"Ich lach' mich Job" - Career (focus: engineering sciences) and comedy at The Hochschule Niederrhein

Looking for a job, networking and laughing at the same time? That's exactly what you can do on 22 April 2026 at Krefeld South Campus (Obergath 79, Building J) at "Ich lach' mich Job".

From 14:00, you can talk to companies about internships, theses and starting a career in the J building. The highlight: your conversations will be turned into comedy minutes! The more you talk, the longer comedians Khalid Bounouar and Assane Badiane get to shine on stage:

Khalid Bounouar: stand-up comedian, member of RebellComedy, known from TV shows such as the "Quatsch Comedy Show"

Assane Badiane: German Comedy Award winner as "Best Newcomer", with cheeky, personal humour

The Wissenschaftlicher Verein Mönchengladbach e.V. is planning a Science Slam in cooperation with The Hochschule Niederrhein!

Present your research at our first Science Slam on 13 October 2026 at 7 pm in the main auditorium in Mönchengladbach. There are no limits to the topics you can choose. Just make sure that you can present your results within ten minutes. The audience will choose the winners and the first three places will receive prizes totalling €600. The event will also include the awarding of a so-called Youth Slamer Prize, which will recognise contributions from pupils.
