The language centres in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach are offering a range of language courses at various levels in a total of nine languages in the 2026 summer semester.

Following the positive re-registration of "Technology for Grandparents" in previous years, the series of events will also be advanced in 2026.

"Technology for Grandparents" is aimed at grandparents, parents and other interested adults as well as (grand)children and aims to make technical and scientific topics accessible across generations.

Four thematically independent modules will be offered in 2026. Participation is free of charge.

Topics 2026:

• With pressure upwards: Foundation courses of motion and recoil (8.7.)
• Electricity from light: Understanding energy conversion (10.10.)
• ElektrikTrick 2.0 - Understanding and using LEDs (9.12.)

With around 12,948 students (as of winter term 24/25), The Hochschule Niederrhein is one of the largest and best-performing universities of applied sciences in Germany.
