Tutorials, revision courses, workshops

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.

General information

What is a specialised tutorial?

Subject tutorials are held to support courses. You will be supported by experienced students (tutors) in reviewing the subject content and preparing for exams. You also have the opportunity to clarify questions, find learning partners and familiarise yourself with new learning techniques.

A specialised tutorial is not a substitute for attending the course, but provides additional support.

First semester tutors wanted

The introductory week for first-year students always takes place at the beginning of the winter semester (end of September) at the faculty and is traditionally organised and run by students from higher semesters, organised by the Student Degree Programme Counselling and in cooperation with the FSR. During this week, we offer students initial orientation, provide information, tips and contacts and lay the foundation for successful studies with a good start.

Every year, we are looking for committed students from all degree programmes who would like to accompany and support a group of first-year students during the induction week in a team of two with fun, enjoyment and their own experiences. Preparations always start at the beginning of the summer semester and applications can be submitted until the end of April.

Tutoring programme

In order to avoid "jumping in at the deep end" when starting out as a tutor, tutors are prepared methodically and didactically for their work in the university-wide tutor programme. This qualification also offers the opportunity to acquire the certificate for tutors.

For all those who are already working as a tutor for the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences or have just started, it is worth taking a look at the university's tutor programme.
Here you will find various training courses, coaching and exchange formats as well as all information on the certificates you can obtain as a tutor.
