Degreeprogramme B.Sc.

Internships in Organic Chemistry II and III

For those students who want to deepen their knowledge in organic chemistry at the end of their bachelor studies and choose the elective course "Organic Chemistry II and III", an advanced practical training in applied organic chemistry takes place in these internships. Syntheses are carried out over several stages, modern preparative methods of organic chemistry are applied and tasks from the field of polymer chemistry are worked on.

In the internship on the special fields of organic chemistry, application-oriented experiments on surfactants are carried out and practical body care products are produced.

Degree programme M.Sc.

Advanced practical courses

For those students who choose the specialisation "Applied Organic Chemistry" in their M.Sc. studies, these in-depth practical courses provide comprehensive practical training in various areas of applied organic chemistry. Complex syntheses are carried out over several stages, incorporating modern reactions and synthesis methods and using modern chromatography and spectroscopy methods. Experiments and projects in the field of surfactant chemistry are strongly application-oriented. Here, topics from the field of detergents and cleaning agents, personal care products and cosmetics are worked on.

In the field of macromolecular chemistry, practical exercises in the laboratory focus on controlled polymerizations, the use of modern reaction media, cross-linked polymers and selected methods of polymer characterization.

In addition, there is the possibility to conduct theses (bachelor's or master's theses) on current research topics in the laboratory area.
